Bike tour Maighelspass
Route Information

Description
From Andermatt, the route leads along the pass road to Oberalp. If you take the standard route, leave the paved road at the top of the pass and descend over the Tiarms Pass via Val Val to Tschamut. From there, the pass road takes you to Surpalits and Milez, where you join a dirt road. This leads moderately uphill into Val Maighels, where the Maighels hut sits enthroned on the slope to the left. Tip: If you want, you can also shorten the route there by going directly from the Oberalp Pass to Surpalits instead of via Pass Tiarms and Tschamut.
Through the Val Maighels, the natural road gradually becomes a hiking trail; when the snow melts later, you may also encounter individual snowfields. From the Maighels Pass, the view opens up to mountains such as Gemsstock, Pizzo Centrale and Giübin. If you are not afraid of the cold water, you can take a dip in the mountain lake. From the Maighelspass, there is a steep, challenging descent into the Unteralptal valley back to Andermatt.
