Description
We travel by train to Tschamut. Through a young forest, we walk up two long hairpin bends to the height of Scharinas. If we need a break along the way, we find nice resting benches by the path. Or we continue on to Milez, where we take a break on the terrace of the alpine hut Las Palas. Deck chairs invite us to stay a little longer. We overlook the whole of Tujetsch with its villages and hamlets, and the horizon is dotted with numerous peaks with and without eternal snow.
On a hardly used road, through meadows and pastures with a great variety of flowers, we then walk down to the valley. Where the Giuv chapel stands, there was a small hamlet with over 20 inhabitants and several houses in the 18th century. Almost everything was destroyed by an avalanche, only the chapel remained undamaged.
Via Rueras, Zarcuns and Camischolas Sura, we return to Sedrun train station.
