Guided hike to Lake Toma – the source of the Rhine
Depending on weather and trail conditions, the hike may be adapted to ensure safety and the best possible experience.
Description
Lake Toma, with its deep blue waters, is a hidden gem of the Swiss Alps and also the source of the Rhine. Surrounded by mountain peaks and meadows, the lake exudes a special sense of tranquillity. This guided hike is designed as a group activity for up to six people (fixed-price package) and is ideal for shared experiences in nature.
Itinerary
After travelling together by train to the Oberalp Pass, the hike takes us past a lighthouse, babbling mountain streams and blooming alpine roses towards Lake Toma. The path is initially flat and then becomes slightly steeper until we reach the lake, which lies impressively in a hollow. From Lake Toma, we continue for around 30 minutes to the Badushütte SAC, where there will be time for a short break with a drink or cake. We then head back to the Oberalp Pass and take the train to Andermatt.
