Description
We hike near the Rhine - the babbling water continuously accompanies us. The first highlight is Disla, a picturesque little village with typical local houses and various old crafts businesses. Always on Swiss Museum Day the cheese dairy, the grain mill, the sawmill and other buildings are open. The path then leads us to Madernal where we encounter a relic from earlier times: a tank barrier. We stay on the left Rhine bank and after the Russein hydropower plant change to a hiking trail through an enchanted forest with mossy stones and old tree stumps. Part of the path leads over a newly constructed wooden footbridge, artistically installed on the unstable slope. Upon reaching the meadow in Plaun Petschen with playground, campfire site, beach volleyball court and a small bathing lake, we prepare for a longer stay. To the Sumvitg train stop we allow about 20 minutes. From here the RhB railway returns us to Disentis.
