3rd stage Gotthard Tunnel Trail (Sedrun - Lukmanier Pass)

The day promises a lot of variety: We are always in the valley area, pass through small villages and shady forests, rest on the Stagias height and cross an extraordinary larch wood suspension bridge in Mutschnengia. On the old Lukmanier Pass route, modernity seems not to have arrived yet in the hamlets of Drual, Matergia, and Pardé. The Alpe Sogn Gagl belongs to the Disentis monastery and the famous "wandering monk" Father Placidus A. Spescha spent some time here. But that was already over two hundred years ago. At the latest at the first view of the dam of the Santa Maria reservoir, modern times catch up with us again. But that also has its charm when we hike along the left bank on the gallery roof up to the pass height.
