Description
On the hike over the Pazolastock, you meet few people along the way and also enjoy a wonderful mountain panorama, stretching from the Uri Alps far down into the Surselva. The route starts at the Oberalp Pass right behind the lighthouse, which is a replica of the former lower beacon in Hoek van Holland and is meant to span a bridge from the source to the mouth of the Rhine. First gently ascending, later with short switchbacks, the first goal, the summit of the Pazolastock, is reached. A rocky and exposed ridge must be overcome up to Fil da Tuma, but you can always hold onto rock blocks. The path leads past the Badus hut, which has not yet been affected by the SAC's renewal wave and is therefore very original. From the hut, you reach Lake Toma after a 20-minute descent. You are rarely alone at this place, but you always find a suitable spot to rest and linger. Whether on one of the large stones with a view of the lake or on the green meadows around it. The return path to the Oberalp Pass passes the eastern side of the Pazolastock. In summer, the sweet-scented Turk's cap lilies bloom here.
