Arni-Gurtnellen village (with animal puzzle trail between Heissigegg and Holzrieri)

Along a wide gravel road the path leads to Gurtnellen village. You walk through gnarled mountain forests and past colorful flower meadows into the 500-inhabitant village Gurtnellen. Along the way, you enjoy an impressive view of the Uri Reuss valley with the surrounding rock faces.

The hike with wonderful viewpoints is perfectly suited for families. Between the viewpoint at Heissigegg and the rest area Holzrieri, the "Tierliweg" is laid out, on which children can find 12 hidden wooden animals over almost three kilometers. In the puzzle boxes, the animals are introduced in the form of a simple puzzle. The goal of the Gurtnellen "Tierliweg" is Holzrieri, where you can take a break at the beautiful rest area with various seating options, a fountain, and a toilet shelter.
