Dammahütte SAC
Route Information
Best Time of Year
Description
The Dammahütte is situated at 2439 m above sea level and is considered one of the smallest staffed SAC huts. The hut is ideal for day trips, families, but also climbers and route hikers. Early risers experience an unforgettable sunrise in front of the hut.
The "southern" route is shorter in terms of time and distance and starts at the parking lot. It runs south of the Göscheneralpsee, along the slopes and meadows of Älpergen and Höhenberg. Early risers enjoy the morning shade on the first half of the path, from the dam to the Dammareuss bridge. Here, you can take a well-deserved rest, as by now you have covered more than half the time of the hike. At the bridge, the southern and northern routes meet. From this junction, the direct path first leads a bit steeper over stone stairs and stone blocks to the Dammastäfeli and up to the Dammahütte.
