Description

The seventh stage of the Glacier Bike Tour passes through a wild and diverse landscape and connects the source of the Rhine with the first cantonal change of the tour. From Disentis, the route runs on a lonely forest road along the Rhaetian Railway, with the elevation gaining almost imperceptibly up to the Oberalp Pass. The pass at 2,044 meters is a prominent intermediate target and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain panorama. On the Oberalp Pass awaits the only lighthouse in the Alps – a unique highlight of the route. After the pass, the route leads along the Oberalp Lake, where anglers and walkers should be respected. The descent to Andermatt leads through numerous hairpin bends and offers fantastic views of the Ursern Valley. Upon arrival in Andermatt, the next section of the Glacier Bike Tour awaits.
