Description

On 16 June 2019, the Andermatt Concert Hall was inaugurated with a concert by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Constantinos Carydis. Designed by Studio Seilern Architects under the direction of Christina Seilern, the building is the first large concert hall specifically designed for a winter sports resort. The hall offers around 650 seats and a flexible stage for a 75-piece orchestra. Kahle Acoustics and dUCKS scéno were responsible for the acoustics and hall design.

A dream comes true

Originally, an underground conference hall was planned for this site. However, during the construction phase, investor Samih Sawiris decided to develop the project into a modern concert hall. With the opening and the concert by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, a long-cherished dream came true for him – shaped by his passion for classical music.

Today, the Andermatt Concert Hall serves not only as a concert hall, but also as a versatile venue for conferences, film screenings and gala dinners. The hall can be hired for various events through the Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen.
