Chixxs 2-Day Advanced High-Altitude Tour Coaching — Rotondo Hut

Event information
Description
Are you regularly going on ski tours or splitboarding, have already gained some experience in high alpine terrain, and want to further develop your skills? In this high alpine tour coaching, you will learn how to plan tours more independently, assess hazards, and make conscious decisions on the mountain.
Unlike a classic guided tour, you take an active role together with the other participants. Under the professional guidance of a mountain guide, you apply your knowledge directly in the field and gain practical experience.
On the first day of the course, the route leads to the Rotondo Hut. Along the way, important techniques are refreshed, procedures practiced, and knowledge for independent planning and execution of high alpine tours deepened. The second day focuses on practical application: together you plan a suitable tour, assess the current conditions, and make decisions about route choice and further actions. The mountain guide accompanies you as a coach, provides individual tips, and intervenes if necessary. This way, you gradually gain more independence, safety, and confidence in your abilities in high alpine terrain.
Requirements
You are an experienced ski tourer or splitboarder with very good fitness for tours involving around 1,200 meters of elevation gain per day. You are sure-footed and proficient in walking with crampons. Initial experience in high alpine tours and glacier terrain is an advantage.
What to Expect
This high alpine tour coaching focuses on practical training and independent action in the field. Together with a mountain guide, you deepen your knowledge and learn to take increasing responsibility in tour planning and while on the move.
Course Content:
Refreshing important techniques and procedures in high alpine terrain
Independent tour planning and route selection
Assessment of current conditions and potential hazards
Joint decision-making and communication within the group
