High up on the Gotthard Pass, the Sasso San Gottardo offers you a unique experience. This impressive fortress from World War II has been transformed into a modern museum, masterfully combining history, nature, and technology.

Inside the historic complex, you'll find interactive exhibitions on the Alps, energy, climate, and history. Discover the cabinet of curiosities, the crystal cavern with its enormous rock crystals, the stunning light show about the Gotthard watershed, as well as exhibitions on Goethe, General Guisan, and the Cold War.

A special highlight is the ride on the underground Metro del Sasso, which takes you deep inside the fortress. There, you can explore original preserved troop quarters, ammunition depots, and gun emplacements, and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view from the terrace.
