Description
The Ursern Valley Museum is housed in one of the most beautiful patrician buildings in the Ursern Valley, the ‘Suworow House’, which was built in 1786 by Franz Dominik Nager and served as the headquarters of the Russian general Suworow in 1799. Following renovation, the museum opened in 1991 and features permanent exhibitions on 18th-century domestic culture, the history of the valley, the military, alpine farming, alpine animals, the muleteer trade, and the career of skiing legend Bernhard Russi. Temporary exhibitions are held in the basement and guided tours are available on request.
