Academia Vivian Trail, circular route

Description
We start the route at the starting board in Fadretsch (Curaglia) with snowshoes packed, until we reach the junction onto a snow-covered field path. Along the sunny slope, the path leads us gently uphill through an open birch forest. We remain very quiet because chamois and deer often warm their coats here during the day. We already have our camera and binoculars ready. At Vergera we circle a hillock with a signpost that recalls the old Lukmanier mule track, from times before there was a road through the gorge. Shortly after, we reach the junction that leads left up to Plaun Tiatscha. This is the place with the best view of Disentis! Now we occasionally share the path with sledders, so caution is advised.
Stagias is the highest point of the route and before the Academia Vivian, which lies somewhat hidden among the birches, we take a break. Sitting on the steps and leaning against the warm wooden wall, we enjoy ourselves. To get back to the valley, we follow the signs, but every now and then a detour into the untouched white is a must. We want to stir up some snow!
At the road in Mutschnengia we put our snowshoes back on and visit the panorama restaurant Cuntera. We order a “Marenda Medellina”, a Medel aperitif plate. Afterwards, we visit the interesting suspension bridge just behind the last houses of the village before finishing the route on the cleared road.
