Description

Pizzo Lucendro is a popular ski touring destination and can be ascended from both the north and the south. On clear days, its striking white peak is visible even from Andermatt. The summit offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and promises a variety of descent routes. In addition to the summit cross, there is also a meteorological station there.

In the spring, when the Gotthard Pass road is open, you can drive comfortably to the Gotthard Pass. From there, you begin the tour via Valetta di San Gottardo. You then descend into the valley via the pass below Pizzo della Valetta. From there, you begin the final ascent up to Pizzo Lucendro.

The descent follows the same route back or goes via the Rotondo Hut to Realp.

Alternatively, the ascent can be made via the Rotondo Hut. This is especially recommended when the Gotthard Pass road is closed.
